A little bit about me

Hi there!

My name is Bri, I am the owner of Love Co. Ceramics. I am a Japanese Canadian artist who creates handmade pottery on the unceded Syilx Territory, Okanagan B.C.

For as long as I can remember, I have always immersed myself in creativity. As a child, I was always finding new crafts and creating with my hands, being creative was, and always will be so therapeutic for me. When I found pottery it was like no other creative endeavour I had ever tried and I instantly fell in love with it. I always loved the idea of being a potter but it was a distant dream. I ended up pursuing a degree at UBCO and during my last year of my undergrad I felt so drawn to start creating pottery again so I bought some clay and started creating, this time I couldn’t let it go. Suddenly everything made sense, flash forward a few years…and here I am, pursuing my dream and overwhelmed with the sense that this is what I was always meant to do.

All of my pottery is inspired by nature and childhood memories like wandering through the forest, feeling the sunshine on your skin, picking strawberries, and so much more. My hope with each creation is that the joy and love that I put into it is felt through those that purchase or admire my work.

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn a little bit more about Love Co. Ceramics.

With gratitude,
Bri
